This is a Summer Fiddling Program sponsored by the Tulsa Symphony and the National Fiddler Hall of Fame, in conjunction with the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, LaFortune Park Community Center and Tulsa Public Schools. The classes will be held at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame and/or at LaFortune Park Community Center between the dates of June 13th and August 5th of 2011. The fiddling program will end with a grand performance on August 5th at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame.
Prerequisites and More!
- Students must have at least ONE year playing experience
- Students must have the ability to read music
- Students should be graduating seniors of the 2011 Spring semester or YOUNGER
- Student must play Violin, Viola, Cello or Bass [if a student wishes to participate and plays a different instrument, arrangements may be possible, please contact us.]
- All Tulsa Public School Students will be able to keep their school instrument over the summer in order to participate in this program--this will be the instrument from your most recent school.
- Cost is $65.00 for one session and $100.00 for both sessions.
- Cost covers one 50-minute class which meets TWICE each week.
- You can pick your location [LaFortune Park Community Center OR the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame] and we will assign your class to best fit your needs.
